All About Us!

Welcome to our life....as simple and crazy as it may be! Things are crazy for our family right now. I'm currently working and in school finishing up my Nursing degree, while Brandon is working long, late hours, and our 3 kids are growing like weeds. Brogen is now 5, Capriece 3, and Briley will be 1 this month of December. I can't believe how fast time flies! We're still calling Northern Utah home for now, but a future move might be coming up due to my current school situation. Although things seem hectic we still try to enjoy the simple pleasures in life and in our family!

Big Girl Capriece!

Capriece is growing up so fast and is really blossoming into a funny, sweet, adorable little girl. And she is  fearless! She loves to climb on top of anything she can, and just last week she managed to climb right out of her crib. She's so tiny I never thought she'd be able to, but one morning I woke up to her and Brogen bouncing on HIS bed! So it was time to move her into a toddler bed. Luckily her crib is one that converts right into a toddler bed and she was so excited. We made it a huge deal and told her how big she was and how neat it was that she was getting a "big girl bed"! She was so excited and hardly could wait to sleep in it that night. Being prepared, we placed big pillows on the floor beneath her, just in case she fell out, but she didn't and we got to wake up for the first time with BOTH kids in our bed and her poking me in the eye saying "Hi mommy!"

Brogen - THE NEXT GENERATION!!!

Brogen is getting so big and smart and at 3 he is very perceptive and really pays attention to everything. The other day he was watching cartoons on the Disney channel and they played a little commercial on how kids can go to playhouse Disney.com to play some games with their favorite characters in it. Some how he put it together that they were talking about games on my computer and he begged me to let him get on and play them. I was a little skeptical at first because he IS only 3, and goes a little haywire whenever he gets super excited and I was worried about the outcome for my laptop. (Its the only connection I have to the "outside" world)! But being 3, he is also very adept at persistently and relentlessly bugging me, and bugging me, and pleading with me, and begging me, and after a couple of hours, I gave in! So we logged onto the playhouse Disney website and were both pleasantly surprised. The games they have are really fun, and *shhh...don't tell him* educational, and help him learn a lot of neat stuff. He caught on really fast and learned to maneuver the mouse really well. Before long all I had to do was sit there and watch him go...(with only an occasional prompt on which button to push). We decided that we would let him get on for a little bit each day (with one of us accompanying him of course) and let him play a few games. I think it's great quality time with him and he really enjoys it!

Our Ice Skating Adventure!

So yesterday we were out on the town and on a whim we decided to stop by the local Sports World store to see if they happened to rent out ice skates. We had been up to the lake a couple of weekends ago and had seen a bunch of kids skating on the frozen lake and thought it might be fun to try. Keep in mind that none of us have EVER been ice skating before; much less even walked on a frozen lake. And since Sports World just happened to have all of our sizes in rental skates for $5 bucks each, (even cute little tiny skates for the kids) we took them and headed up to the lake to see what kind of damage we could do.

Christmas Day 2009

We had a very nice, small Christmas this year! It was different staying home but it was also a lot of fun to have a white Christmas! On Christmas morning mom & dad ended up waking up before the kids, and had to make some noise so that Brogen would hear us and get up to open presents! (Hey we were excited too)!

*~ COOKIES ~*

Brogen and I made some great delicious Christmas cookies this year. He was such a big help by putting the cutouts on the sheets, then helping me frost them (although I think he ate most of the frosting) and being the official sprinkle decorator (he wouldn't let anyone else touch the sprinkles)! It was so much fun and we even got into a frosting fight! In the end we took some over to our next door neighbor and sent some home with the girls as well. Aren't the Holidays great!
