All About Us!

Welcome to our life....as simple and crazy as it may be! Things are crazy for our family right now. I'm currently working and in school finishing up my Nursing degree, while Brandon is working long, late hours, and our 3 kids are growing like weeds. Brogen is now 5, Capriece 3, and Briley will be 1 this month of December. I can't believe how fast time flies! We're still calling Northern Utah home for now, but a future move might be coming up due to my current school situation. Although things seem hectic we still try to enjoy the simple pleasures in life and in our family!

Pumpkin Carving!

We had a ton of fun carving out our pumpkins for Halloween last night! Both Brogen & Capriece helped dig out the icky goop on the inside! They were not quite sure if they liked it but they both tried it a few times! Brogen even decided to try and eat one of the pumpkin seeds! But he spit it out real quick and told everyone it was "real yucky!" We had one of those little pumpkin carving kits with the little serrated knives so Brogen got to help mommy cut out the nose and ears on one, and Capriece helped daddy cut out the teeth on the other! They got quite a kick out of seeing them all lit up outside on the porch too! We had the perfect spot, right on top of our swamp cooler and everyone from the street can see them really well!  It was so much fun doing this together as a family and really got us in the Halloween spirit! Can't wait for this weekend to come!

Fall Family Fun

It was such a nice day today, and the weather was perfect for fall, so we decided to go outside and rake up the leaves in our front yard! We have two big gigantic lilac bushes along our front walk and all the leaves in the whole neighborhood have changed to their beautiful fall colors and begun to fall off the trees! So the kids and I had loads of fun playing around in the leaves together! They first helped me put them in small piles around the yard, then we loaded them up into Brogen's toy dump trucks and carted them into one big pile! (They are both such good helpers!) I think we ended up raking them back into that same pile more than three times after they re-scattered them all over the yard. It was a lot of work for just a little fun....but it was worth it to see the big smiles on their cute little faces!

Brogen thought it was so funny to dump leaves on everybody! Capriece just laughed and laughed! Then     they were chasing each other all over they yard too! It was so cute! They really do play so well together!

Getting into the Halloween spirit!

Brogen & Capriece's Halloween masks they made on Thursday!

Yesterday we decided to start getting into the Halloween spirit! If you don't already know, Halloween is mommy's very favorite holiday and this year is going to be extra special since we will get to spend it down in St. George with the whole family! We will also be celebrating Brogen's 3rd Birthday (even though he was actually born on the 27th)! It is going to be so much fun and all the grand-kids will finally be old enough to wear costumes and go trick-or-treating together! I can't wait to see them all dressed up! Brogen originally wanted to be "spongebob" but the only costume we could find was really expensive so we convinced him that being a cowboy was a much "cooler" idea! :) We went out and bought him one of those stick horses and he already has everything else so he's all set. Capriece is of course going to be a pretty pretty princess and we found a really cute outfit at the local store here in Ely! I had to alter it a little since she is so skinny but it turned out nice!

Mommy altering Capriece's dress with her new hand-held sewing machine!

We have some cute Halloween crafts and projects planned to do with our new little friends that come over during the week (our pumpkin masks were they first ones we did) so things are becoming quite festive around our house lately! Only two more weeks and we are all so very excited and can't wait to see everyone!

My New at Home Job

Today I started babysitting for a couple of new friends of ours, the Bundy's! Their two little girls are just about around the same ages as Brogen & Capriece, and they are so sweet! We decided that it would be nice to have a little extra money in our pockets each month and my job hunt has been hard and fruitless! I think I've gone to six or eight different interviews but none of them were interested in me since all I have for experience for the last five years is health-care work! I mean come on, do they think that I can't do anything else except that? The local grocery store even turned me down! Its been so frustrating. But at least I'm doing something now! The kids love playing together, and if it wasn't for the rain on our first day, we would have gone over to the park and everything. Oh well, hopefully it will all work out! I'm still looking into a job at the local nursing home! However I'm also still waiting on paper work from the Nevada State Board of Nursing in order to get my license transferred over from Utah to Nevada! Whew! Talk about a lot of work! But things should all work out in time! Wish us all luck...this is something completely new to me! I've never watched so many kids all at one time!

Family Duckie Day

Today we decided to go out and have a little fun with the kids! It's one of only two days off that daddy has during the week and the weather has warmed back up again a little so we decided to take a trip down to the local duck pond in the center of town! The kids love going there and feeding the ducks and there are a lot more than usually since the ones from the lakes have flown down for the free food and warmer waters! But today we got bombarded by pigeons that were so hungry they would actually climb all over our shoes and brush up against our legs as they vied for the bread rolls we had. Brogen thought it was so funny and kept trying to pet them and Capriece got a little nervous and had to come stand by mommy! Daddy even tried to feed one right out of his hand..but they were not paying that much attention! It was one big feeding frenzy! They were so crazy that we almost had a few fly straight into our faces when they took off or landed! It was a lot of fun and a nice day out on the town!

Heaton life at the present: A little information so far!

So here we are living in Ely Nevada now! Its been really nice so far and we have really enjoyed the much cooler weather! We moved here at the beginning of June and Brandon couldn't be happier being back in a small town up in the mountains; however it has been quite the adjustment for me and the kids! I haven't had to work, luckily, and the kids and I have become pretty creative entertaining our selves with not much to go and do! Both of the kids are growing like weeds and will have both grown another year older in the short time we have been here! Capriece, now 16 months old, is developing quite a big personality (she's the princess of the house) and Brogen surprises us everyday with how much he knows and can do! Brandon is still working very hard as a diesel mechanic and really enjoys his job up here! We're not sure how much longer we will stay here, but we are keeping our options open and following "the dream"!
